Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has said the tourism industry of the Maldives succeeded due to the importance given to the safety of the sector.
In an interview with Breaking Traven News (BTN), Managing Director of MMPRC Thoyyib Mohamed said the Maldivian tourism industry is flourishing beyond expectations, adding it is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of the Maldivian people over the past two years. He added one of the key elements of continued success is that priority is given to the safety, health, and wellbeing of all travellers during their vacation in the Maldives. He said this includes making sure the staff serving the staff are also similarly safe and healthy. He said the stringent guidelines and measures in place and the naturally distanced islands ensured that the Maldives can easily offer an unparalleled level of safety for all holidaymakers.
The stakeholders of the tourism industry implemented several measures to ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of the tourist arriving in the Maldives. As such, a vaccination campaign was launched to vaccinate all tourism industry workers.
The Maldives has been honoured with the title of World's Leading Destination at the World Travel Award for a second consecutive year. When asked what caught the eye of the voters, Thoyyib highlighting the welcome travellers from all walks of life with equal enthusiasm and offer unique products, like boutique hotels and charming guest houses in local inhabited islands, for business travellers or for holidaymakers looking to add a local twist to their visit said this is one main reason travellers seek holidays in the Maldives.
