Maldives records increase in tourists from Saudi Arabia

Ministry of Tourism has revealed the number of tourist arrivals from Saudi Arabia had increased significantly in 2021 compared to previous years.

As per the statistics of the tourism ministry, Maldives recorded 40,014 tourist arrivals from Saudi Arabia last year, making it the 6th top source market of tourists to the Maldives. It was a 54.7% increase compared to the 25,865 tourist arrivals recorded from Saudi Arabia in 2019, when the country was the 15th top source market of tourists to the Maldives.

Maldives recorded 1.3 million tourist arrivals in 2021. The highest number of arrivals were recorded from India, with 291,787 tourist arrivals. Russia came in second with 222,422 tourist arrivals.
