Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC) has taken over the development of The Gardens housing project of Jaah Investment Private Limited.
The Gardens is an 83-apartment luxury housing project being developed in Hulhumale' Phase I. Jaah Investment began the project in 2017 but has failed to complete it even after extending the deadline. Flat recipients have been expressing outrage over the lack of development despite them already having paid for the apartments.
In order to solve the issue, HDC has taken over the project to complete the remaining work. The state-owned company stated that the finishing works on nine floors remain incomplete, including the plastering and tiling as well as the ceiling works. It expects to complete the project within six months.
