The Ministry of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation is preparing to launch the Fit Maldives Portal, which is included in the new administration's roadmap for the first 14 weeks in office.
Speaking to PSM News, Minister of State Mohamed Riyaz said work on the portal is progressing quickly and that the software has been finalised. He said the portal is being designed to include everything people need to stay healthy and that the government aims to make the portal appealing to people of all ages.
Additionally, Riyaz said that discussions with experts are underway to address the technical aspects of the portal's development, highlighting the invaluable assistance provided by the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT). He detailed that the portal will mainly include exercises to promote physical health and fitness. The portal will also include information on nutrition and will have activities that give out points as rewards to engage users.
Furthermore, Riyaz mentioned the inclusion of the Dhivehi language in the portal and highlighted the ministry's intentions to extend its availability beyond the web platform. He further said that the ministry plans to incorporate additional features after the portal's public launch.
