Minister hopes EURO 2024 will foster unity among Maldivians

Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu has expressed his hope that the UEFA Euro 2024 football tournament, set to begin in Germany in June, will foster unity among the people of the Maldives. He made the remarks during a special ceremony celebrating the launch of Public Service Media (PSM) Foari 2024 coverage of the EURO matches.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Rafiu extended his gratitude to PSM for broadcasting all the Euro matches and praised the expertise and knowledge of their analysts. He emphasised that football has the power to unite Maldivians like a family, creating a joyful atmosphere. He hopes this collective excitement will resonate across the nation over the next six months, spreading enthusiasm.

Additionally, Minister Rafiu highlighted the promising future of football in the Maldives, noting that the sport is becoming increasingly exciting. He expressed his appreciation to the Maldivian government and, in particular, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for the guidance and support in revitalising and promoting sports throughout the country.
