The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced its decision to cease the rental of parking slots.
In a statement, the ministry highlighted the challenges faced by the public due to road congestion and insufficient space. Therefore, the ministry has informed Male' City Council to discontinue the rental of parking slots, which restricts public activities. Furthermore, any parking slots currently leased will not be renewed once their lease period expires. This initiative aims to alleviate the shortage of parking for individuals using vehicles for various purposes, while ensuring that roads remain conveniently accessible for public use.
Regarding the statement, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen reaffirmed his commitment to making every effort to achieve both, short- and long-term goals related to the organisation and accessibility of roads and public spaces for all individuals.
