Preps. underway to introduce National Curriculum key stage 3: NIE

National Institute of Education (NIE) on Saturday said preparations are underway to introduce key stage 3 of the national curriculum next year.

NIE said that it is currently in the process of compiling the textbooks required to introduce key stage 3 of the national curriculum, which targets grades 7 and 8.

NIE said key stage 3 will be introduced with the Academic Year 2017, which will be followed by key stage 4 which targets grades 8 and 9, and then key stage 5 targeting grades 10  and 11.

Deputy Director General at NIE Ahmed Yoosuf said the textbooks required for key stage 3 will be compiled and printed by October.
