Gender Ministry warms of scam calls asking for donations

Ministry of Gender and Family on Tuesday issued a warning to the public about phone scams asking people to donate money to the children's shelter Kudkudhinge Hiya.

The Ministry said the scammers claim to be raising funds for Kudakudhinge Hiya, and urged the public to report such calls.

An official told PSM News that neither the Ministry nor Kudkudhinge Hiya are conducting any fundraising events, and that information about any such activities will be provided through the Ministry's website.
