Running mate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has stated the citizens of Fuvahmulah City and Thinadhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll have assured their support for President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The running mate of the ruling party made the statement upon arrival to Male' City, after visiting Fuvahmulah and Thinadhoo.
Furthermore, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem expressed all meetings held with senior citizens, senior officials of institutions and youth were successful.
The running mate revealed he inquired about the concerns and listened to suggestions made by the citizens, adding all concerns and suggestions will be presented to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Moreover, Dr. Shaheem noted he felt the support from the islands for President Yameen and the acceptance of rapid development brought to the country.
Meanwhile, he appreciated the hospitality and closeness extended from the citizens during his visits. Expressing confidence the president will secure a second term in office with a vast majority, Shaheem highlighted PPM stands firm in upholding the Islamic values and the sovereignty of the country.
