Managing Director of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) Hassan Shah has revealed there are no plans to cease the ferry and the express speed boat services to Hulhule' and Hulhumale'.
Speaking on a programme aired on PSM News, Managing Director Hassan Shah stated MTCC will work to enhance the ferry services within the Greater Male' Region. Shah expressed the ferry services are accepted by the citizens and MTCC will exert major efforts to strengthen the services.
Along with the opening of the Sina-Male' Bridge, the number of people using the ferry has declined, which according to MTCC, has caused major financial losses to the company. Furthermore, he noted complaints received from the public regarding the ferry services are being addressed.
Providing affordable and easier means of transportation is an electoral pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
