Elections Commission once again has opened application opportunity seeking officials for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
In a notice, Elections Commission said it has not received sufficient amount of application forms. However, the commission revealed the applications forms received for the initial notice have been accepted.
Any Maldivian aged 18 years and above can engage as an official in elections if the person does not hold any senior position of a political party. The official must also not be actively engaged in any campaigning activities. The electoral body has asked interested individuals meeting the requirements to submit the forms before March 1.
Meanwhile, the commission revealed several challenges are faced in seeking officials for the elections, adding more officials are still needed.
