Hotel Property Limited (HPL) of Singapore has granted 15 ventilators and 100,000 surgical masks to the Maldives. Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed the aid from HPL was handed over to the High Commission of Maldives in Singapore.
HPL is a Singaporean company active in hotel ownership, management and operation as well as property development and investment holding. The company operates several resorts in the Maldives, including Four Seasons Kuda Huraa, Landaa Giraavaru, Gililankanfushi, Holiday Inn Kandooma Resorts and Six Senses Laamu Resort.
Meanwhile, Singapore’s Temasek Holdings Private Limited has granted 5,000 COVID-19 testing kits to the Maldives. Temasek Holdings is owned by the government of Singapore and operates as a commercial investment company.
National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) stated efforts are underway to acquire the required medical supplies to cope with the surge in COVID-19 cases. Several companies and organisations have pledged to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), test kits and ventilators to the Maldives.
